Volunteers who served in Costa Rica begin their Transition Retreat

July 13, 2015

of=50,480,360It’s been an amazing journey from distant parts of the country to the beginning of their year of service with orientation in Syracuse NY and eventually to begin their life in community and service in Alajuela, Costa Rica but now our volunteers have returned home. Bright and early this morning Bianca, Justin, Whitney and Erin are heading out to the Abbey of the Genesee in Piffard, NY with Friar Rick and AJ (and hopefully Sr. Caryn)  to experience the final Transition Retreat.

Over the next few days they will reflect on their experience of community, service and prayer. They will also learn about what to expect in the months ahead as they return to regular life. The hope is that these young men and women will intentionally take with them the spirit of Francis and Clare of Assisi and begin a lifetime of sharing the Franciscan charism.

Please pray for the volunteers and directors on retreat!
