Volunteer Re-Orientation Retreat

January 22, 2013

The Costa Rica retreat with Cleo the friary dog.

Our FrancisCorps volunteers participated in the Re-Orientation Retreats this month which were held both in Costa Rica and in Syracuse. It was an opportunity for the  volunteers to reflect on their experience in light of the life of St. Francis of Assisi. The experience at the ministry sites was a special focus of the weekend with an entire day dedicated to theological reflection… how do you uncover God in your experience?  The retreats ended with each of the FC14 communities reflecting on their goals and objectives and how they have done in moving towards achieving them. The goals/objectives were updated and new ones were developed for the rest of the year.

Costa Rica: time for sharing, relaxing and reflection

In Costa Rica, Friar Rick and Jordan Differding were able to visit the new work sites for FC15 and signed agreements with the five new agencies. In Syracuse the volunteers hosted some of FrancisCorps’ benefactors and partners in ministry for a “Winter Dinner” which included the celebration of the Eucharist and a brief presentation by each of the volunteers on their experience thus far.
