The Bishop Foery Foundation, an after school community youth center run by Catholic Charities of Onondaga County, has been running programs for low-income families of the Southside of Syracuse since 1946.   The most basic characteristic of the Bishop Foery Foundation is their concern for youth, expressed specifically through programs that promote educational and social growth.

At the Bishop Foery Foundation, as a FrancisCorps volunteer, you will organize and lead after school programming for pre-kindergarten through middle school children through educational and recreational outlets that enhance communication, emotional, cognitive and physical skills.   You will also provide assistance to the “Teen Program” for the older students that takes place two nights a week.   You will have a strong impact on the lives of these young people as you work to build a safe, secure, and educational community.  The Bishop Foery Foundation may be of particular interest to students who are interested in education, community organizing and social work but only requires someone dedicated to fostering a strong and loving community to support the development of young people.
