Vincent house is an after school program run by Catholic Charities of Onondaga County. Vincent House serves a population of low-income families on the West Side of Syracuse. Many are Latino, so knowledge of Spanish would benefit this location. Although Spanish is most of the student’s first language, English is the primary language in the center. Through Vincent House students from Pre-Kindergarten- middle school are provided many education and social activities that will enhance development in both areas. Volunteer opportunities at Vincent House include organizing in-center activities and local community excursions, working with special needs children and assisting with simple office duties and/or public relation tasks. The site would be of special interest to either male or female with education, Spanish, and social work backgrounds. A valid driver’s license is required for this placement site.
