Support worker for resident and ministry of Francis House – hospice home

Francis House provides a home and an extended family to people with terminal illnesses so they can die with dignity and experience the unconditional love of God. This ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities in Syracuse is a highly respected home for people who need end-of-life care.  It’s a joy-filled caring environment. The FrancisCorps volunteers at this site will have an opportunity to experience various aspects of working in an effective private non-profit agency. The volunteer will balance their time between direct contact with residents, supporting them according to their abilities, preferences and qualifications and also assisting in supporting the mission of Francis House by assisting with development, fundraising, volunteer coordination. The volunteer will be a full member of the Francis House “team”. The direct involvement with the residents may take the form of simply visiting and listening to their stories, assisting with the day-to-day care of the house or depending on the education the FC volunteer has it may also include assisting with care.
