Happy New Year

December 31, 2012

Are you celebrating the 12 days of Christmas? Did you know that the very first day of the New Year is dedicated to Mary, Mother of God and is also the church’s World Day of Prayer for Peace? These “holy days” focus our attention on various aspects of the mystery of Christmas. The title of Mary, Mother of God reminds us that Jesus, our brother, is also God made flesh in time and history. Jesus is that presence of God in nitty gritty of our human experience. In turn, this abiding presence of God in our lives compels us to be people of service, of peace and healing.

Wherever you live, whatever your life has in store for you this year, know that God is there by your side and invites you to share that love with others in service. We pray and hope that for some of you, this service will be in as part of the FrancisCorps experience.

We wish you health, happiness and many blessings in 2013.
