Brittany Buckner comes to FrancisCorps from Mooresville, IN. She is 22 years old and just graduated from the University of Dayton, majoring in Spanish and International Studies. Brittany has a wide variety of volunteer experiences in Indiana, Mississippi, and Missouri as well as in Dayton, OH. Most recently, she has volunteered with refugees from Burma and China. In 2008, Brittany studied Spanish in Costa Rica and is looking forward to returning there where she will tutor and mentor at-risk high school girls at Casa Maria in San José. “I hope to be able to share all of my past experiences and grow from my new experiences with the FrancisCorps community in Costa Rica. I want to better understand what it means to serve Christ by serving others, and in turn, become a better Christian and Catholic.”
