Michael Lamanna is 23 years old. He is a native of Schenectady, NY and a May 2009 graduate of Syracuse University. He majored in Economics and Geography. For the past year, Mike has worked as a Vista Volunteer with the Northside Collaboratory in Syracuse. While at SU Mike was involved in Campus Ministry where he assisted with liturgical music and like the other volunteers, he studied abroad for a semester (Madrid, Spain). Mike will be serving as an Assistant to the Refugee Resettlement program and Asian Apostolate here in Syracuse. “Living a simple life is also a way to remain in solidarity with those who do so not by choice but by necessity. It is a sign of my conviction that charity is more to me than simply handing out a sandwich or finding someone a house to live in. Christ humbled Himself and became human for our sakes. In living simply, I will become humbled for those who need me.”
