Gabriel Rojas is one of our many FrancisCorps volunteers who joins us from Fairfield University. Gabriel graduated from Fairfield in May. He is 22 years old and grew up in Union, NJ. He was a Radio and TV major, Senior Resident Assistant, campus tour guide and volunteer at Trinitas Hospital in Bridgeport. Gabriel is Costa Rican and has traveled to Costa Rica many times to visit family and friends. He has also participated in a service trip to Ecuador. Gabriel will be a tutor and youth mentor at Centro Nacional de Educacion Especial Fernando Centeno Guell, a school for blind, deaf and physically challenged children in San Jose, Costa Rica. “I am impressed with FrancisCorps because it seems like an actual ‘community’ and simple word of mouth from talking with other Fairfield alums convinced me that this community was an authentic one. I see myself as a community builder as well and I look forward to this international community experience.”
