Timothy Smilnak is also 22 years old, Binghamton, NY and a May college graduate. He attended the University of Scranton where he was a Biology and History major. While at U of S, Tim was also a Resident Assistant and peer advisor and he also participated in the honors program and Emerging Leaders program. He has been a camp counselor and a hospital phlebotomist and participated in service trips to Camden, NJ and Washington, DC. He too plans a career in medicine. Tim will split his ministry hours between the Refugee Resettlement Program and the Northside CYO youth program in Syracuse. “The future for me will be very busy. Right now, I am at a juncture in my life where I can build a solid foundation for my future, regardless of what it looks like. My hope is that by joining FrancisCorps and immersing myself in service, prayer and community, I will strengthen my faith, reinforce my values, and bring myself closer to God.”
