Volunteers

Sara De Bruin, 22, is from Neenah, WI and is our first FrancisCorps volunteer from Marquette University where she graduated in May as a Psychology and Spanish major. She was actively involved in campus ministry and campus retreats and she also enjoys sports (especially volleyball and ‘non-American’ football). Sara has also traveled abroad studying in Veracruz, Mexico and Madrid, Spain. These experiences along with many hours of inner-city volunteer work will provide a solid background for Sara who will be a Tutor/Mentor at Casa de Maria in San Jose, Costa Rica. Here she will minister to pre-teen girls with economically and emotionally challenging backgrounds.

“I like the mission of simple living and especially the motto of FrancisCorps: ‘Preach the Gospel! If necessary, use words. That is exactly how I feel about my faith and I want to live it and be an example first and foremost.”
