Volunteers

Erin Pertovic is from South Euclid, OH. She is 22 years old and a May 2007 graduate of the University of Dayton where she was an honor student earning a BS in Biology and Human Rights. While at UD, Erin was involved in a number of campus wide leadership programs as well as a leading a campus ministry retreat team. She has experience as a summer camp counselor and she participated in a nine week service to Appalachia. Erin will apply all of her skills and interests as a Case Worker at the Dorothy Day House in Syracuse.

“In terms of living in community, I expect to have different views from the other members. I expect to have different views of what community should be. I do not expect community to be easy to build. I expect to be both frustrated and thrilled by community I expect to be surprised by the people I work with and serve. I expect to be confused, to question my self, my faith, my experiences. I expect to connect with people, to gain insights into some of life’s injustices. I expect to make memories….”
