Volunteers

Throughout his college career, Brandon has been active in service work, combining both his love of teaching and his skills in Spanish. He has coordinated service programs for inner-city youth in the Albany area and abroad in Ecuador and Peru. Brandon will be serving as an Assistant at Hogar Luz, a home for severely physically disabled youth in Tres Rios outside of San Jose, Costa Rica.

“I definitely do not want to be the volunteer who sees it fashionable to trek a different terrain, all the more to inflate a sense of myself and the view others had of me. Simple living is a concept that is very distinguished and prevents the previously mentioned behavior. The concept allows the volunteers to consciously choose to not focus on wealth but simplicity, a life that very much resembles those we would help.”
