Vincent House is a neighborhood center sponsored by Catholic Charities of the Syracuse Diocese. There is one (1) position available at this Center.

• Youth Mentor Job Description
  The Youth Mentor at Vincent House will provide outreach activities though home visits to families (parents, children, teens) from diverse backgrounds to involve those interested in educational and recreational programs offered at the Center and to complete applications forms for participation; supervise youth programs; implement recreational and educational activities and monitor development of social skills; assist with integration of children with special needs; transport participants in agency vans as needed; help maintain a clean, safe and enjoyable environment for all program participants; refer children and families to outside resources as necessary; assist with other agency programs and events. The population at Vincent House is low income families. Many are Latino. A working knowledge of Spanish would assist the Youth Mentor but is not necessary. The Youth Mentor will receive training on effective methods of tutoring and mentoring, child development, ti! me management and stress management as well as other inservices and a minimum of 4 weekend long enrichment retreats throughout the year.
