- L'Arche Assistant Job Description
The Assistant will help foster a deep relationship between members of the local L'Arche community; promote growth and well-being of the Core members of the community who are disabled; to consistently work in a unified team approach with all aspects of local community operations; strive to discover what will help each community member grow to her/his fullest potential. to assist with the daily operation of the local community, arrange and participate in social activites, help with transportation, meal preparation, personal hygene, and neighborhood (community) activities. The Core Members of a L'Arche community are developmentally disabled women and men . The Assistant will receive training on the various aspects of developmental disabilities, effective methods of tutoring and mentoring, time management and stress management and other in-services as well as a minimum of 4 weekend long enrighment retreats throughout the year.
