FUNDESO

FUNDESO is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged women overcome breast cancer. The staff is composed solely of volunteers, many of whom are breast cancer survivors themselves. Services that FUNDESO provides include scheduling mammogram and oncology appointments for patients at little or no cost, providing prosthetics for women who cannot afford to undergo reconstructive surgery, holding group therapy sessions and discussions on breast cancer for women in the community, and providing a place for women to stay during chemotherapy treatment.

At FUNDESO, the FrancisCorps volunteer is able to help with everything from entering patient data electronically to assisting patients and scheduling appointments. The hours are flexible, the FUNDESO volunteers are very welcoming, and the experience is outstanding.
